The 4th IBSW 2023 – International Battery Safety Workshop will take place 28 – 29 September 2023 at Center of Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Ulm, Germany.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the international workshop themed
„Battery safety is the essential basis of battery development.”
in the city of Ulm.

The registration was closed on 13 September.

As already known for participants in the past, the workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for intellectual and social interactions. The 4th IBSW 2023 is focussing on the safety of all kinds of batteries, but with a special focus on Lithium-Ion batteries. As energy density of cells and energy content of batteries are going to further increase, safety aspects will be even more relevant. Also upcoming technologies, e.g. all-solid-state- and sodium ion batteries, often considered as more safe, will come more into a safety focus as their production rates will increase.

Approximately 150 international experts (space is limited) are expected in Ulm, who will exchange views on the various topics on site.

Call for abstract:

This edition will bring together academia and industry to look for new insights and pathways to increased safety levels of cells and batteries. The event will feature talks and posters on safety research, analytics, simulation and battery engineering delivered by international experts.

Topics will include:

  • Thermal runaway analytics
